Lobster Reef Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2023

Lobster Reef Sauvignon BlancSo the 2023 Lobster Reef Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region in New Zealand.  A lazy Saturday night wine with a steak and salad.

It’s a pretty standard fact that a New Zealand white wine is going to pass muster pretty easily.  The Lobster Reef Sauvignon Blanc was no different.  I am a confessed addict of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I’m still to find a bottle that I didn’t like.

This bottle was very light and fresh, with fantastic tropical fruit flavors throughout.  It’s a wine that is best served with seafood, which elevates it on the palate.

But I had mine with a steak and salad with friends. Still a great wine to drink with friends.

About Marlborough Wine Region

The Marlborough Wine region in New Zealand is the largest in the country. With over 23, 000 Ha of vines and roughly 306 500 tons of grapes produced.  It accounts for over 70% of wines produced in New Zealand.  This is an area where you throw a rock and you will hit a world-class winery.

Well worth a visit if you can get there for a trip.  New Zealand has a lot to offer for a holiday not just great wines.  If you can book Queenstown during the snow season and do the wines in the north.

Lobster Reef Sauvignon Blanc From The Bottle

As long as anyone in the area can remember, these brightly colored crustaceans have made the ‘Marlborough Coastline’ home.  We thought their quirky nature perfectly reflected what Lobster Reef wines are all about.  This Sauvignon Blac is fresh and crisp with tropical fruit flavors. Enjoy now and chilled with some lobster.
