Evans & Tate Butterball Chardonnay 2022
It’s a well known fact I prefer sauvignon blanc wines. What is a little-known fact is that in my 20’s I was all about the Chardonnay. Part of the journey with wine is trying new experiences. This time around it is the Evans & Tate 2022 butterball chardonnay.
I will start the story with how I finished the wine. I just finished pouring about a 3rd of it down the sink.
Yes, I know shock, horror, gasp. It’s just that I couldn’t finish the wine. it was bought a few weeks back for a Sunday lunch. I think it was two glasses, and I actually couldn’t finish anymore.
It was overpowering in taste, with massive buttery flavors.
Normally with wines I don’t like, I end up cooking with. the Butterball Chardonnay didn’t make the cooking wine cut either.
The flavors were certainly buttery. It’s in the name I guess. Maybe my palette has shifted so much after years of Sauvignon Blanc. All I know is I would pass this one by the next time I am at the shops.
