2011 Voyager Estate - Cabernet MerlotAny time winter hits, I bounce right back into drinking red wines. I went down to the local bottle shop and tried the Voyager Estate Girt by Sea Cabernet Merlot 2011, which is from the Margaret River in Western Australia. As far as New Zealand really owns the white wine market.  Australia really dominates the red wine market, you can pick most wines, and feel safe that you have a 90% chance of picking a decent red to enjoy.

Interesting enough, 2010 was a pretty tricky vintage in Margaret River, it was perceived that is was to whites than reds.  This vintage was nice and fun, a little light and nicely polished that was a little blah.

From The Bottle

The vineyards of Margaret River are surrounded on three sides by the ocean.  The temperate maritime breezes wander through the vines contributing to the beautiful flavour development in our grapes. Our Grit by Sea Cabernet Merlot is vibrant and delicious, full of richness, yet soft and approachable and like a favorite story, it is perfect for sharing.
