St Hallett 2011 Blackwell Shiraz

By on January 7, 2017 in Shiraz with 0 Comments

St Hallet’s is a funny wine, I first had it with a  girl I was dating (yes wine and girls, maybe I should look at that), share a bottle of this way back when.  The Shiraz is a great drop, the St Hallett is no different, you could almost imagine the dark chocolate, aniseed, raspberry and the vanilla.

I actually had mine with a gourmet pizza I put together, on a lazy Thursday night.  There was nothing better then a grilled chicken, fetta, capsicum, spinach pizza with a nice bottle of St Hallett Shiraz.  This is definitely a great vintage to have it was smooth all the way.

From The Bottle

The 2011 Blackwell Shiraz displays aromas of dark chocolate, aniseed, raspberry and a touch of vanilla.  The palate is just as dark with notes of cherry and wild blackberry that roll into cracked pepper and spice with coating, chalky tannins finishing the wine.
