Grant Burge 5th Generation Cabernet MerlotSometimes I spend hours walking around the wine aisles at the local bottle shop. Looking for something that might take my interest and at least a couple of hours of my time. Every now and then the bottle shop attendant, will take the time to recommend a bottle of wine to me. Which brings me to the point the Grant Burge 2013 Cabernet Merlot was one of those wines.

It wasn’t bad, I like it, I mean a Cabernet Merlot is always a safe bet, this one was a little frisky, a little full of berry goodness.  Sometime I do wonder is the bottle shop guys actually try these bottles first, or do they just recommend something that a rep has told them to promote.  Either way its was a nice drop.

From The Bottle

This classic 2013 Cabernet Merlot has dense blackcurrant and cassis flavours, supported by silky integrated tannins and subtle oak.  The elegant structure of this wine makes its a great match with a wide range of dishes, including lamb oxtail and braised pork shoulder.
